Causal relationships are definitely asked in Weaken & Strengthen Questions. Conditional Reasoning means Formal Logic. The question or premise that contains Sufficient and Necessary Conditions like, If, then, only if, only, unless, etc.

Hey CR is all about common sense - but the underlying concepts are what you mentioned: necessary and sufficient conditions, if, then etc. Veritas even start their CR coaching with a session on logic. But, I feel that you don't need to know formal logic to crack CR questions, but some basic knowledge won't hurt. It's mostly common sense :)
