LOR's

by saurabhmahajan » Tue Aug 24, 2010 9:56 pm
Hi Friends,

How much important are LOR's ?
I am asking this becoz i will be requesting my Team lead and a colleague to present them to my intended college. So should the LOR come from some one at higher post only ? Will that make any effect on my appliation ?
Will my LOR's from my Team lead and colleague be enough to make an impression on ADCOM ?
Thanks and regards,
Saurabh Mahajan

I can understand you not winning, but i will not forgive you for not trying.

As far as i know, it should be from any person(peer/supervisor, but should not be from someone working under you) who could better describe you. Supervisors are preferred though.

Hi Saurabh,

There's nothing technically "wrong" about the people you have chosen for your recommendation, but if you do have a professional mentor or supervisor who is more senior than merely a colleague or team lead, that would be great. I think that choosing one of the two people you have mentioned in addition to someone more senior who knows you well would be a good move. However, don't choose someone more senior who can't give specific examples of your candidacy for business school.

Good luck!
