the value of 3 cube root of -89

(a) between -9 and -10

(b) between -8 and -9

(c) between -4 and -5

(d) between -3 and -4

(e) undefined

ANS is C

How can this be solved? I tried even 90 but did not get far after the first step.

This can be solved by picking numbers.

I started with (-4)^3 = -64. The next highest cubed integer is (-5)^3 = -125.

Since -89 lies between -64 and -125, the only valid answer choice is C.
