The Jock wrote:the y intercept of line l is 4. if the slope of line is negative, which of the following could be the x-intercept of l?
I. -1
II. 0
III. 6
y-intercept is when x=0
y = mx+c
therefore c= 4
m is negative

x intercept is when y=0
therefore xintercept = -c/m = -4/m
-4/m cannot be 0
-4/m cannot be negative because m is negative.
only III is possible.

Hope this helps!!

Slope=-b/a[b-y intercept , a- x intercept]

b=4

Slope=-4/a

Slope is negative only when a x intercept is +ve)

Option 2 and 3.

Any integer divided by 0 is undefined.So 0 is eliminated.

Option 3,6.slope ll be negative when x intercept is 6.

Pick option 3
