I'm curious to know if a problem like the one below will be on the GMAT. I ask because it seems to be dealing with a tangent angle. In other words are we expected to know how to multiply tangent degrees° ?
A man is climbing a mountain, as shown in the diagram. The slope of the mountain is 35°. What is his change in elevation, represented as x, when his horizontal distance from the starting point is 1,000 feet?
