Profile Evaluation

by myside88 » Sun May 15, 2011 3:00 am
Hello.

Please give me your two cents whether it is even sane to target these schools based on my profile.
(I am considering to apply for next year batch that is Aug 2012. 1st Round Application deadlines for which would be starting week of Oct this year.)

Moreover,Please advise on-->
1)what kind of schools I can get?? is my present set of schools way out of the league??
2)What can be the weakest part in my application and how to improve that??

Hi,

Thanks for your post. While you have some great strengths to your profile (GMAT, interesting college activities), you do have a red flag. Applying to business school with just one year of work experience can be quite challenging. Keep in mind that admissions committees don't calculate the amount of work experience you may have at matriculation, but rather the amount of experience you have at the time of application. With just one year under your belt, the adcom may question your readiness for bschool. You'll need to convince the adcom of your goals as well as your timing. Why is now the right time? What skills would you bring to the program? Which skills are you lacking.

My advice would be to hold off applying for at least a year if possible in order to build more professional experience as well as develop activities outside of the office.

Regards,

Stacey
