The operation * represents either addition, subtraction, or multiplication of integers, what is the value of 1 * 0 ?

1. 0 * 2 = 2
2. 2 * 0 = 2

statement 1:

0*2=2

This statement means that * can refer to only addition

Sufficient

statement 2:

2*0=2

This statement means that * can refer to either addition or subraction..

Insufficient

Hence the ans is A..Let me know if you have any doubts

But the question asks for the value of 1*0, and using the 2nd option, the value of 2 - 0 or 2 + 0 remains the same. Had there been 2 different results, I would have agreed that second statement is insufficient.

But in both the cases u can find the value of 1*0

Please correct me if I am wrong.

I had overlooked the question before posting the solution...Yea..You are right
using statement 2 we conclude that * refers to addition or subtraction

And using either subtraction or addition will result in the same value of 1*0...

SO I think the ans should be D...
