first one is 75%

Mean is 10 SD = 0.3

within 1 SD means 10+/- 0.3 ( 9.7 to 10.3)

so we need to find numbers which all within 9.7 to 10.3

there are 6 numbers out of 8

hence 6/8 = 75%

hope that helps..

2nd question:

After dealing with statement we have
for C: time - c, rate - 1/c
for H: time - h, rate - 1/h
Combined rate - 1/c + 1/h = (c+n)/(cn)
Combined time (cn)/(c+n) = t

remember that c<h
You can plug in numbers
let c=2, h=3, we have

I - OK
II - not OK, it should be t<c<h
III - OK

Answer E
