Question whether to retake the Gmat

Hi Amy/Stacey

I just got my GMAT score and was disappointed with a 680 (48Q 35V) and was wondering if I should retake the exam. I have aspirations of going to a top 3 Bschool H/S/K and have a good GPA 4.0 and work experience at a top management consulting firm and private equity firm but am afraid that by not having having over a 700 will hurt my chances at getting into a top school. I was wondering what your thoughts were and any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi jssilver,

A 680 is a perfectly respectable score, especially with a 4.0 GPA. That being said, if you will feel more confident with a score around the mean for the schools you are targeting, I would take the GMAT again.
