A and B race

by harsh.champ » Tue Feb 09, 2010 5:30 am
If A and B run a race, then A wins by 60 seconds. If B and C run the same race, then B wins by 30
seconds. Assuming that C maintains a uniform speed what is the time taken by C to finish the
race?

A. A and C run the same race and A wins by 375 metres.
B. The length of the race is 1 km
It takes time and effort to explain, so if my comment helped you please press Thanks button :)

Just because something is hard doesn't mean you shouldn't try,it means you should just try harder.

A. A and C run the same race and A wins by 375 metres.
B. The length of the race is 1 km
A. If A and C run the race, A win by 90 sec and 375 m so his speed is 4.1666 m/sec but we can't say about distance insufficient.
B. speed is not clear... so insufficient

combining A and B : A's speed is 25/6 so time taken by him to complete 1 km = 240 sec
he win by 90 sec by C
so c takes 90 +240 = 330 sec

so ans C
