I would really appreciate your insight on the Harvard Business School (HBS) 2 + 2 and Stanford Graduate School of Business admission processes. I have outlined my profile below and would like to know my chances for admission.
GMAT Score: 650 (52% Q; 90% V)
GPA: 3.98 / 4.00
Undergraduate Institution: Top 3 liberal arts, Historically Black College or University (HBCU) that is a top 50 feeder school for top tier business schools
Undergraduate Major: Business Administration - Accounting; Minor: Economics (Note: Transcript includes a number of STEM and liberal arts courses)
Intended Two-Year Work Experience: Investment Banking Analyst program at a bulge-bracket firm (GS / MS / JPM)
Extracurricular Involvement: Volunteer as a teaching assistant and professional mentor in College's Division of Business & Economics (400 students in department); Serve as president and CEO of college chapter of a widely recognized, national minority professional organization (oversee membership of ~45; implemented and direct division-wide tutorial program that offers services to ~100 students); Sit on the board of advisors for, and am a member of, a college-wide community service organization that represents and works directly with the College's Office of the President; Serve as treasurer of class council and College's international student organization; Traveled extensively for study abroad and community service (6 continents, 12 countries); Served as an ambassador for the College on international stage; Led an 5-member team in Eastern regional accounting case study competition directed by big 4 firm and placed second overall; Won 2 case studies, leading 7 member teams, at College's division-wide level.
Career Goal: Break into technology, venture capital world
Ethnic Background: 19 year old, black male from the Bahamas (no U.S. citizenship; would apply as an international student)
Schools: Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, Sloan
I am trying to decide whether to submit my application in the first round, deadline: September 16th, or wait until the second round, deadline: January 6th, after I retake the GMAT. Also, if I decide to reapply added to my extracurricular activities would also include membership in a national, minority, community service-based fraternity and the founding of a national, minority, community service-based, business fraternity. However, I do know that there is a proven record of greater chances of admission in the first round. Would you recommend waiting or should I submit my application as it stands?
