OA is right.

We know that 3^(x-1)=(3^x)/3

Then equation looks like this:

(3^x)-(3^x)/3=162
3*(3^x)-(3^x)=3*162
2*(3^x)=3*162
(3^x)=3*81
(3^x)=3^5
x=5

Then x(x-1)=5*4=20
