Probability that a player picks up a red ball from a basket containing red, blue and black balls is ¼. What is the probability that the player picks up blue ball?
(1) Probability that the player picks up either red or black ball is 2/3.
(2) Probability that player picks up red or blue ball is 7/12.

P(R) = 1/4
Probability that the player picks up either red or black ball is 2/3.
P(Blue) = 1-p(R)+P(BLACK)
p(R)+P(BLACK) = 2/3
P(BLUE) = 1/3
SUFF
Probability that player picks up red or blue ball is 7/12.
P(Red and BLUE) = P(RED) +P(BLUE) -P(RED OR BLUE)
0 = 1/4+P(BLUE)-7/12
P(BLUE)=4/12 = 1/3
SUFF
