Hi guys, only one doubt: Least common denominator have the same function in the exercise as Least common multiple?

In the fraction x/y, where x and y are positive integers, what is the value of y?
1) The least common denominator of x/y and 1/3 is 6.
2) x=1

LCD = LCM of denominators
In this case LCD of x/y and 1/3 is 6 can be rephrased to:
LCM of y and 3 is 6.
