If zt < -3, is z < 4?

1. z < 9
2. t < -4
Consider the following two scenarios,
  • 1. z = 5 ant t = -5 --> zt = -25 < -3 BUT z > 4
    2. z = 1 ant t = -5 --> zt = -5 < -3 BUT z < 4
Both of the above cases satisfy each of the statements.
Hence, the statements individually or together is not sufficient to answer the question.

The correct answer is E.
