adjective vs noun

Hello everyone,

When I say "Oxford graduates"- here Oxford is adjective and graduates points to noun.

But if I say Graduates of Oxford, does the treatment change? Does Oxford become a noun?

Can an adjective have something? Can one be a graduate of an adjective? Of course not.

In the expression above, Oxford is a noun.
