Hi,

Thanks for your post. Congratulations on improving your GMAT score!

Overall you have solid work experience to date - if my calculations are correct you have a little over 9 years of experience. While it sounds like you've had some interesting roles to date as well as international experience, my concern is around the length of time you've been working. Most US bschools admit applicants with an average of 3-5 years of experience. Given you have over 9 years, the adcoms may question why you waited until this point in time to seek out your MBA. While your goals do indeed make sense, my concern is that you perhaps have too much experience for a full time program. Have you considered a part time program? I realize it isn't as easy to make a job change in a part time program as it is with a full time one, but I do worry that you may find it difficult to gain admission to the schools on your list due to your extensive work experience.

In the end, should you choose to apply to your selected schools, I would strongly suggest you retake the GMAT with a goal of scoring 700+. This will certainly help make your profile a bit more competitive given that many applicants in the pool with similar backgrounds will likely have higher GMAT scores.

Best,

Stacey

Hi Stacey,

Thanks so much for your valuable inputs. The decision / need to go for MBA evolved along with the exposure and experience. I am thinking of retaking GMAT again next month.

I looked into the part-time EMBA courses as well but am not convinced whether I would be able to concentrate properly given my hectic office schedule. Since, I intend to change my job role I feel like giving as much to the foundation.

Regards'
