Advice on GMAT study guides

by tsharma » Tue Jan 31, 2012 3:34 pm
After following a bunch of forums I decided to buy the Manhattan GMAT strategy guides...these guides definitely have a lot of material in them...but i still want a suggestion about any other GMAT book out there that has an edge in Math/Verbal over Manhattan GMAT...some people say that kaplan is better in math than Manhattan GMAT Quant strategy guides...I have 3 mnths before I give my GMAT

Hi, for CR "Powerscore CR Bible" is definitely good. Quant, after finishing Manhattan, u should solve OG 12 and Quant Review to assess where do u stand.

If you need more basic Quant help the Kaplan Mathbook is fine, but I think MGMAT Number Properties, the OG12, GMATPrep, and online resources like Grockit, GMATClub, and BTG are enough, truthfully. There's enough hard questions online nowadays -- and once you get a sense of your weaknesses you can target them online effectively.

For Verbal, definitely check out Powerscore CR. Veritas makes an RC book if you want more practice there, but I don't think it's necessary.

I see a lot of people suggesting Powerscore for CR....I already own MGMAT CR guide and wonder that is it worth owning both Powerscore CR and MGMAT CR books? I'm still in the early stages of my preparation and have not solved many CR OG questions.....so i'm not in a position to judge the effectiveness of MGMAT CR strategy guide...
