Q's on prob/perm & comb not available in OG 12th edition

Hello All,

This is the first time I am writing in this forum.

I have been working out the problems in OG 12th edition in both, Problem solving (total 230 q's) and DS (totally 174 q's) and I have nearly completed all of them. However, I noticed that there are no questions on probability and Permutations/Combinations in the entire OG 12th edition.

Also, in the Math review which gives the explanation of concepts does not include probability and perm/combinations.

Does this mean that these portions will not appear in the actual GMAT? I would also like to know if they have mentioned anywhere whether probability & perm/comb is available in the syllabus for GMAT.

Kindly let me know if the portions are available anywhere.

No, they are tested in GMAT. check questions on the Maths forum!

Thanks Vaibhav and Vivian,

It does look like questions on probability, permutations & combinations do appear regularly on the gmat. However, only a fundamental testing of the concepts is done and not very difficult problems appear.

I have taken the test a couple of times over the past 18 months and have seen an interesting trend of permutations combined with probability. A simple probability question, involving just one event, but the only way to find the probability is to work through a permutation or combination. So these questions are out there.
