IMO D
between is there, thus and should be present. Eliminate A and B.
chemical reactions is plural, thus C is eliminated. (which has...)
E) Acid rain result from chemical reactions to produce doesn't make sense.....

We have the "between ____ and _____" idiom here, so we want to make sure that both parts are logical.

"between _____ with ____" is incorrect. :-( A and B are out.

"sulfer dioxide and nitrogen oxides" is a compound noun -- they are part of the FIRST part of the Idiom. (don't be confused by the fact that we use "and" to form the compound; this "and" is not part of the Idiom!

In C - "has" doesn't agree with the noun "reactions"
In D - "which have....which are...." is awkward.
In E - "result from ____ to produce ____" has a clear meaning.

Think of it like this: 1 results from chemical reactions between 2 and 3 to produce 4.
