Hello,

Yes, from the information you provided you appear to be a viable candidate for those programs. You're in a largely represented industry and demographic group, but you also have some differentiators.

Ways to improve: (a) You can’t have too much leadership. Look for ways to enhance your leadership at work. (b) Considering that you’ll likely be writing about your music experience sometimes, think about how it’s shaped your perspective, skills it’s honed, etc. – don’t rely on the fact of it for differentiation; the value will be in what you have to say about it. (c) You can always think further on your goals – what is your vision for your goals, what can you say in your essays that will make your goals more than a logical next step? (d) If you haven’t, and if possible, visit the schools to get a firsthand sense of them. (e) If you’re in the IT function, get as much exposure as possible to the business side and write about it in your essays.

Good luck with your MBA plans, and with your music!

Best regards,
