Maybe the Admissions Office will provide contact info for successful applicants who are willing to be contacted. I'm not sure what their policy is on this, though generally speaking the AO is very open and helpful about most things. It's worth a try.
I'm not sure the admission office will give you names of admitted students. I think the best way is to try finding admitted students through forums like this...
If you are looking to compare your profile to the profile of admitted candidates, look for the class profile on the school website. There you can see average gmat scores, gpa, work experience and other figures of admitted candidates.
That's a good advice, but you don't need to fit any profile, and such misfit should not prevent you from applying. Sometimes candidates with unique backgrounds have the advantage in this admission game... this is not exact science.
I second that. You don't have to be inside the 50%-60% that come from finance or consulting. A unique background can go a long way (you still need a strong well-rounded profile though).
Admission depends far more on the other aspects of your application, a unique background, yes, but you also need a solid work experience, references to back you up, and let us not forget that your interview and your essays is another thing.
There are lots of links available that can help you prepare for your video essay. I bet you can also find actual samples. I've read that video essays are optional? Is that correct?
Regardless if it's optional or not, I believe you should still have one. You can use this to explain the weakness in you profile.
Kellogg's video questions are mandatory as part of the online application (not to be confused with video interviews that some programs offer).
Any idea how important are the video questions, comparing to other components of the application?
