had it been about weaken the conclusion, it would have been D. However here it is about weakening the argument and C stands out.
Answer should be C.
Whats the OA?

Interesting to see OA.madhur_ahuja wrote:OA is E
C --> American companies will see reduced profits FROM cell phone sales in Chinese market.
P --> Chinese manufacturers are becoming more productive and introducing new phones.
Scope shift --> conclusions all of a sudden introduces profits.
(C) will be out of scope as it talks about American companies which sell other electronic products.
IMO D.
E can be a choice only when I make additional assumptions that Chinese manufacturers buy electronic components from American companies that sell cell phones.
If there is any official explanations, pls post. Tx.

The OA is correct as the original argument states that the American companies might see reduced profits and not "american phone companies".
I hope u get the point.

the OA wud have been right if E used the word american....
when E talks bout such a generalised statement.... it goes out of scope...the word american is necessary...we cannot assume that E talks bout american electronic components....
wht is the source of this question?
