Is the answer "D"?
"Native of" is used for a individual while "Native to" is used for a large group

D is the only one that comes close to weakening the argument.

IMO C

Wht is wrong with C

The arg talks bout American cell phone manufacturers..while the conclusions talks bout the american companies as a whole....

I think C weakens the conclusion.

As the answer choices and the argument stand, C does not affect the argument in any way.

Would agree with PAB2706.

had it been about weaken the conclusion, it would have been D. However here it is about weakening the argument and C stands out.

Answer should be C.

Whats the OA?

Interesting to see OA.

C --> American companies will see reduced profits FROM cell phone sales in Chinese market.

P --> Chinese manufacturers are becoming more productive and introducing new phones.

Scope shift --> conclusions all of a sudden introduces profits.

(C) will be out of scope as it talks about American companies which sell other electronic products.

IMO D.

E can be a choice only when I make additional assumptions that Chinese manufacturers buy electronic components from American companies that sell cell phones.

If there is any official explanations, pls post. Tx.

The OA is correct as the original argument states that the American companies might see reduced profits and not "american phone companies".

I hope u get the point.

the OA wud have been right if E used the word american....

when E talks bout such a generalised statement.... it goes out of scope...the word american is necessary...we cannot assume that E talks bout american electronic components....

wht is the source of this question?
