Final Days advice needed please!!!

by rakeshd347 » Wed Sep 04, 2013 9:51 pm
Hi Experts,

Last week I posted 2 of my recent test results from veritas prep tests in those I scored 700 and 710. Brian Gavin from veritas and Rich from empower gmat gave me very valuable advice. Now concentrating on those advices and improving my weak areas, I gave another Mock test from Kaplan and I scored 740. I had given kaplan tests before too but generally found very tough. Now what can I conclude from these results. My target score is 700+ anything 700+ will do because australian colleges generally have average gmat mean of 660 but I want to be on safe side. With these results can I be sure that I will get 700 on real GMAT.
GMATPREP2----10 June-700
Veritasprep test 1--17th may 2013-630
Veritasprep test 2--22 july 2013--640
veritas prep test 3--12 August 2013--700
Veritas prep test 4--21 august 2013--710
Kaplan test 1---29 August 2013---680
Kaplan test 2--5th september 2013--740

I have given my recent 5 tests with IR and essay both.

Please have a look at my attached score card and please advice me as to what should I do in the next 13 days. Should I keep giving mock tests or practise my weak areas.

Thanks
Rakesh

Hi Rakesh,

You're performing at a really strong level right now, so your next 13 days should be about maintaining that level of excellence. DON'T do lots of CATs, but you can plan on taking 1 more if you want to. Instead, focus on your review: go back and look at the questions that you got wrong on each of those CATs. Were those questions too hard or could you have gotten them correct? Did you not know the content or did you make a silly mistake?

You're not far away from scoring 750+, but at that level, NO SILLY MISTAKES are allowed.

Don't do too much, don't burn yourself out. Stay calm and focused. Do good work. For the next 13 days, just keep doing the things that helped you to get to this level. You're absolutely ready.

Good luck Rakesh. Hope you post some great news and insights from G-Day
A good question also deserves a Thanks.

Messenger Boy: The Thesselonian you're fighting... he's the biggest man i've ever seen. I wouldn't want to fight him.
Achilles: That's why no-one will remember your name.
