Undefined equation question.

by MOARQUESTIONS » Wed Nov 02, 2011 3:19 pm
I wasn't sure about this, but when you have a 0 in the numerator or in the denominator is the equation undefined?

I thought 1/0 was undefined while 0/1 is just 0.

As well, if you have something like x/ (0-2) is it undefined or would it then just be simplified to x / (-2) ?

Thanks,
Dave

Dear Dave,

1/0 is underfined and

0/1 is 0

And for your second query x/(0-2) is NOT undefined it would be equal to x/(-2)
