I am a Nigerian and am very interested in applying for the HBS 2+2 program by March 2012. I am presently working on the application package. But this is my situation, and I want a sincere honest advice. I am working full time (since 2006) in a large multinational company as a Human Resource Assistant and schooling for my B.Sc. Management degree at the same time, to graduate in 2012. I had to combine work and school to be able to fund my degree education. I had earlier completed Ordinary National Diploma program (OND) and was awarded the BEST GRADUATE BY ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE.

Also, I run a personal business that is fully registered in Nigeria, and my ultimate goal, for which reason I want the MBA, is to start a Management Consulting Firm specializing in Leadership and Strategy to contribute to the Nigerian Transformational Agenda. But in the short run, I hope to work with a Management Consulting firm after the MBA. I have also engaged in Public Speaking as a guest speaker in many Christian Youth Fellowships across some states in Nigeria.

I read that the HBS 2+2 program is for undergraduates without full time work experience. Will my full time work experience to date, even though I am still schooling for a B.Sc. degree, constitute a disadvantage or an advantage to my application? Do I seem 'Over-qualified' for the 2+2 program? Please help me....

Good question! And you have pointed out that the 2+2 program is really for people without work experience, but I do understand that things run differently in Nigeria and other countries... Honestly what I would do is present your situation to the HBS Adcom. Email them, asking if you could apply through 2+2 of if rather you should apply through the regular program. As you perhaps know, they don't get many applications from Nigeria, so as long as all else is in place (GMAT grades etc.) you might also be a good applicant for the regular program.

Anyhow, I would say you should ask them direct.
