At a certain factory that operates 24 hours per day,1/12 of the daily output of

tennis racquets are flawed. If only these racquets are rejected, how many

racquets must be produced per hour to yield 1,320 acceptable racquets

per day?

A.55
B.60
D.75
E.110
E.130

Besides backsolving how else can i solve this problem?

Total needed output of good racquets= 1320
Since 1/12 is flawed no of racquets needs to be produced to get 1320 good raquets = 1320*12/11 =1440

The no of racquets to be produced an hour = 1440/24 = 60

in 24 hr x amnt is produced per hr and x/2 is rejected that means x/2 is accepted per hour
that x/2 * 24=x/12 is accepted in a day
that means
x/12=1320
x=110 need to be produced per hr

Could you recheck the solution? Are you sure about this?

For every 12 rackets factory produces, 11 are acceptable. To get x acceptable rackets, you need to produce 12x/11.
Here x is 1320 so we need to produce 1440 per day to get 1320 good ones. i.e. 60/hr.
