okay, so i'm done with the og, kaplan 800, and the manhattan sc guide. i'll be taking the gmat on 26th feb and haven't taken a cat yet. i've taken a few paper based tests though, and haven't fared very well. i can see some improvement on my scores, but i'm confused about the next move. what now!?!

should i take a CAT? if so, which one? princeton, kaplan, mgmat, gprep?

what material should i refer to?

enlighten me!

i came across this very interesting and informative website https://gmat.prepwizard.com/personalp.aspwhich lets u create ur own study plan for the GMAT that is built specifically according to ur personal capabilities and goals. This service is FREE and looks very informative. I suggest u give it a try to build ur one-month study plan.

Definitely take a CAT. The paper prep. tests may not give you a good indication of where you're at, because understanding the test itself is no doubt something you've studied. I'd go with Princeton, see how you do from there.

from what I hear it you take MGMAT Cat exam... the Verbal is not indicative of your true ability... they havent perfected their verbal section yet... so if verbal is your main concern I would suggest taking a different exam

yeah, i was thinking of taking a practice cat as well. i'll start taking them from now on. but other than that, what material to i refer to?

well the only one i've taken so far is the MGMAT Cat exam because we have to take it before the first class (i'm taking the in person class)... i haven't even looked at the others yet.. just from being on the message board I would say go with Kaplan for now and save the official GMAT CAT's for a date closer to when you your test date is. maybe 2 weeks before so you have time to study areas of weakness

sorry I couldn't be of more assistance... i'm sure someone will answer shortly with a better answer. You could also probably just peruse the site and find some good ones.. maybe check the "I Beat The GMAT" discussions and look for people's debriefs... they usually put which CAT exams they've taken... i think you'll see a lot of Kaplan and MGMAT... not so much Princeton Review though.

yeah, i've got some good reviews about the mgmat and kaplan tests. i have access to the kaplan tests, but not to the mgmat ones. thinking of purchasing them. what say you?

CAn you please direct to some of the threads which as you say tell that MGMAT verbal are easier then MGMAT.
I really want to take up something harder than MGMA verbal. Have heared lot of bad report about the Kaplan.

yeah, i've got some good reviews about the mgmat and kaplan tests. i have access to the kaplan tests, but not to the mgmat ones. thinking of purchasing them. what say you?

Don't purchase them. Just buy one of their guides and you get access to all 6 CATs for a year. You might as well get an additional book out of the deal rather than only getting access to the CATs.

No prep company has accurate verbal. The closet that I have seen is Princeton Review actually, but even then, they don't have enough 700-800 level questions. I would recommend going through LSAT material because those questions are made by professional test makers.
