Recommender dilemma

hi, Stacy/Lisa, thanks for reading my question.

i have a recommender in mind who was my manager at my previous company for 3 years. After 3 years, him and I and one other person started a company together, so now for 6 months we are business partners. I would really like him to do one of my rec's, as he would have invaluable insight into how I work, and examples of my work.

Do you think it is OK to use him as a recommender for HBS/Stanford?

Cool -- thats good to hear. I don't mean to belabor the question, but just to double check, now that we are partners (and co-workers), that wouldn't present a problem right...because for the majority of our relationship he was my manager. I'm asking because schools like Haas specifically state in their recommender guidelines that co-workers are not allowed.

Dear Mohan,

You can contact Haas directly for clarification, but I would think since he was your supervisor for a few years before you became partners that he would still be an acceptable choice.
