My chances

by Jaesoreal » Sat Jul 12, 2008 9:28 pm
I am a 25 year old black male. I was a double major at a small university in Economics and Bus. admin with a mgmt concentration. I graduated with a 3.48 overall and a 3.6 in the major. I was very involved on campus in leadership capacities. I took part in a research program at UT-Knoxville and did a semester program in DC with an internship. I actually graduated in Dec. 06 and have worked as a bank examiner since then. I have not had a chance to get as involved since graduating due to our heavy travel but I have joined Toastmaster's, and volunteered extensively on the Presidential campaign. I scored a 710 on my gmat today!!!! YAY!!!!

I say all this to see whether you think Harvard, Yale or Dartmouth are realistic shots for me. I am also applying to Duke and Darden. I would like to go somewhere with a strong general mgmt program. What do you think? Any other schools you'd suggest for someone with my profile?

Dear Jaesoreal,

Congratulations on your GMAT score! I think you have a good shot at any of the schools you mentioned. Have you researched The Consortium as a way to apply to multiple programs? You might check it out (www.cgsm.org).

Best of luck,
Lisa
