Veritas CAT Quant Score

by money9111 » Tue Aug 31, 2010 8:38 pm
What is a good quant score on a Veritas Prep exam?

I just took my first Veritas prep exam (only Quant) and before I get excited I'd like to know what a good score is based on the scale.
My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.

Money -

The Veritas CATs have a difficulty of 3.3 on the quantitative side compared to a difficulty of 3.0 for the actual GMAT Test. The highest difficulty questions are also harder on the Veritas Test and you are a little more likely to run out of time on the Veritas Test as well.

So you can see that overall the Quant on the Veritas CAT is as difficult or more difficult than the GMAT. A good score is a subject thing as people are aiming for different marks - but any score you get on the Veritas CAT can be taken as something that you can meet or exceed on the test!

By the way, if you have access to all of the Veritas Materials - don't forget to try the new quizzes for each subject area that give you "progress reports" and refer you back to specific portions of the lessons that you might need to review. And for CATs - try the new "GMAT Life" tests, written by Veritas Quant and Verbal experts, those are very good.

Hope that helps!

Hhmmm. I got a 45Q but I can't seem to allow myself to believe it. We shall see how I do on the next one.

Thanks! Something came over me the other night. I'm on a high... but I'm not going to let it get to me. I'm studying RC and CR tonight and I'm sure that'll knock me back into reality haha... we shall see!

Hi there.. Have you taken the MGMAT tests yet? I thought MGMAT Quant was harder than the Actual GMAT, would be interesting to know how MGMAT Quant compares to Veritas Quant..
Being defeated is often only a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent.

I've taken so many practice exams... I have taken the MGMAT ones... I'm not going for difficulty right now, so I'm not going to tackle the MGMAT exams just yet. That's what I did the last time, and I didn't see most things of that caliber on the exam only because I couldn't get past the easy stuff. So I'm not going to test-hop this time around. I'm following what my tutor is prescribing and he said do Veritas Cat. So the next step is to go through what I got wrong and redo those problems.

I took a free veritas test today.

The math is very very simple. I completed it in 60 min and got a score 49.
In real GMAT practice, I always finish the test not before 70-75 minutes, giving best of myself.

But I got only 28 in Verbal section.
total score : 620 looking very bad.

Can other guys share their scores here ?

i just gave a veritas prep practise test.
Scored a flat 700. Quant: 51 (33/37), Verbal: 39 (31/41)
found the Quant quite simple. Verbal was quite challenging.

Can someone please authenticate this score?
i ask this because i finished both the sections with 10 minutes to spare. i tend to hurry through the test.
am not sure if the GMAT is on similar lines. if so, i would be glad to book a date. I am targetting 750 and above.

Can someone please guide me?
FYI: I got a 670 in MGMAT and a 650 in Kaplan.
