Is 690 (Q48 V35) + 6Years of IT experience Enough ?

Dear Admission Experts

I have been pulling my hair out of the sockets ever since I have knocked the GMAT score 10 short of 700, which put me into another dilemma, whether to apply to my dream schools ?

I shall be really thankful if you could you evaluate my profile..

I am an IT engineer with a 6years of industry experience.
I have been managing team for the last 2 years or so and expecting a Team Lead batch this October.

Should I plan a retake of GMAT ?

One issue at a time:
Should you apply to dream schools? I always recommend applying to a dream unless it is clear that the applicant could not function in that program. My daughter's advisor told her - "the only school you are guaranteed not to get into is the one you don't apply to." However, you need to know that your dream schools are some of the toughest in the country. If you are determined to go to school next year, you should consider expanding your list, adding one or two safety schools. Class size limits are such that many thousands of excellent applicants are rejected every year.

If you got a 690 on the GMAT, your math skills are strong enough to recognize that 10 points is not statistically significant. Nevertheless, many applicants fret about the psychological value of that extra ten points - even though it only moves you from the 90th to the 92nd %ile. Data shows that people at 680 or above who retake the GMAT are more likely to go down than up. If, however, you can identify a specific weakness in your score which you believe you can repair, then it is worth a retake. Otherwise, you should focus on the more important aspects of your application - those that show your potential as a business leader - your essays and recommendations.

You may want to work with an experienced admissions consultant who can help you identify and communicate those aspects of your background that will make you stand out.
