I recently was laid off from my previous employer of 1.5 years in marketing. I just took a temp job (1 year contract) with a big company in the tech industry (but technically the one paying me would be the temp agency).

Does the admissions council look down upon work experience from a temp agency? I was looking to shoot for a top 20-30 ranked school. I was looking to apply for round 2 of this year. Thanks in advance.

Don't worry about how you found the job. You worked at the tech company - focus on that and you don't have the issue.

it's all about how you spin it... you didn't "just take a temp job with a big company" you now work for firm X doing Y which is incredible because etc etc etc...This opportunity compliments your previous work and has allowed you to make an impact in such a way that..... blah blah blah....

Temp job or not.... you got another job - an important one at that because the firm was looking for a contract worker. It's just cheaper for them to hire a contract workers. Don't shortchange yourself because of that...
