Hi whatthegmat,
The top schools are good in almost everything. For ex, even though Wharton has a reputation of being a finance school, it has excellent resources for recruitment in marketing and general management roles. Another factor that you would like to consider is that alumni from top schools have significant presence in the top echelons of general management positions. And, networking with the alumni has always been a route for job hunting. My suggestion is go for good schools. And, you never know your career plans may change once you get more exposure in the B-school. This happens with a good chunk of MBA class.
