What Gmat Scores Business Schools look at?

by ket » Thu Aug 13, 2009 1:58 am
I recently passed Gmat and got 680 which I find rather low taking into consideration my working experience and the business schools I would like to applyto. So I am planning to retake.

But I am thinking in case I receive a lower score, then what happens? Do schools look at the latest score or do they look at the highest? Could you advise me on that?

Maybe this has been already discussed on the forum, in this case I would appreciate if smn provided the link to the thread.

Thanks in advance

When you request for GMAC to send your scores to your schools of choice they will send any score you attained withing the past five years...you cannot tell them which scores to send and which not to send. Schools, however, will evaluate you on the score you tell them to consider when you apply. For this reason, it probably goes without saying that you should always ensure you tell the adcom your score (obviously highest). In short, while they will be able to see all your scores, you will only be judged on your highest score and having some lower scores in the mix should not affect your application in any way. Good Luck.
