Dear All,

I need your counsel.
I am planning to apply for top US business Schools. Below is my brief profile. Please suggest if I should go ahead and start applying for MBA admissions or just drop the idea. (Considering my current role and salary, the investment from my side will be too high and it will not make sense to go for a MBA ranked below 20). Don't want to invest time into application process if the profile is not worth it.

GMAT Score: 680 (Q-47, V-37, AWA-4.5)

Graduation: Bachelor of Engineering, 75%

Post Graduation: PGDIE, 8.02 CGPA

Total work Exp: 10 Years. (5 Years in Consulting and 5 Years in Management, Currently working as a senior project manager with IBM India)

Hello,

From the information you've provided I'd consider the lower end of the top 20 to be reasonable reaches, and it could make sense to apply to some (selecting strategically considering your profile). A compelling application would be essential, including clear differentiation and goals (and clarification of why you need a full time MBA).

It appears you are on the older end for regular MBA programs, and you have solid management experience at a renowned global firm. You may be competitive for some Executive or Global programs at schools such as Duke and Darden. In particular you might want to check out Darden's new GEMBA program.
