Hi Rahul,

Aside from studying for your GMAT to improve your score, I would concentrate on thinking about how you will differentiate yourself from your demographic pool. It's great that you have significant volunteer experience, that will be a huge help. You don't have a great deal of work experience, so you'll want to think about why now is the right time for you to pursue an MBA.

Your consultant can give you personalized advice on school selection. In the meantime, you may want to read the sticky thread on school selection in this forum.

Good luck!

Hi Rahul,

Your essays are a good place to work on differentiation. Adding leadership experience, perhaps through volunteer work is another good way. If engineering/technical work is what you want to do, then you should definitely keep doing it, though that is definitely a typical career path for high achieving Indian applicants.

Good luck!
