Explanation for low GPA too defensive?

by may2012 » Wed Jan 11, 2012 2:57 pm
Hi

My Cornell MEng GPA was low (3.33). I am adding a supplementary essay to explain that. The reasons I am giving are
1.I was also working 20 hrs a week as a Lab Assistant during the course
2. The 30 credit MEng program that I took is more challenging than similar 30 credit MS programs at other universities in that the MEng at Cornell is required to be completed in 2 semesters only whereas the MS programs at other Universities are usually completed by students in 4 semesters.

I am doubtful about including the second point here. Although it is true, it makes me sound too defensive.

What do you think?

Thanks
