A,B,C are out b'cos of misplaced modifier

Now, got to see from D and E which one is worse.

D has no grammatical errors but is wordy

E uses construction "not like X but Y" .which is incorrect. It should have been "Not like X but like Y". Also, the placement of "by travelers" is ambiguous.
