Choose the College

by skywalkr82 » Wed May 19, 2010 11:21 pm
Hi - I am a Chartered Accountant with almost 5 years of post qualification work ex.
Currently working in a small Investment banking firm in India which focuses on International M&A. Also, the firm is into developing of niche business ideas, nurturing them to a certain stage and monetizing the business by selling stakes. I have joined them in Feb10 and involved in couple of large ticket M&A transactions alongwith evaluation of new business ideas.
Prior to this I was with Ernst & Young for 4years (Mar06 to Feb10) in their Transaction Advisory Services department doing Financial Due Diligence for M&A transactions. I was involved in some marquee International as well as domestic transactions. Also, I was involved in team building programs - trainer in the training programs.
Prior to this I worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers (Sep01-Aug04, Aug05 - Feb06) for 3.5 years doing Statutory audit for my mandatory training in the Chartered Accountancy course.
Since I am already involved in M&A i would want to focus on corporate strategy (primarily M&A) role as my short term career role (5-8) years and then move towards private equity .
My questions are as follows:
a) In selecting this as my career option, I want to know the colleges which offer strategic management electives focussing on M&A pieces.
b) Does my training period of 3 years with PwC count as a work ex.
c) What % of students will I be competing in any top 10 schools with given my background of M&A.

Would be great if someone could assist me with these. I am planning to sit for my GMAT in July and have started preps almost 2 months ago. :?:
