Help req. for retake/admissions

by Kavi » Tue Sep 04, 2007 8:40 am
Hi Stacy/Amy,

I gave my GMAT today and scored a 650 (Q50 and V27). I don't know what made me screw up the verbal section but I guess I was a bit nervous.

Do you think I must consider giving the GMAT again.
My profile:
Female, India
B.E. Electronics Engg.
Work Experience: 1year In IT industry. I would be completing 2 years by the time I join college for MBA
Awarded Best Student twice in undergraduate school
Nominated for several awards at work place as well (though dint win any)
Remarkable scores in school(Class 1-12) but did fairly well in Undergraduate school (GPA around 3.0)

What do u consider my chances of getting into a good school (GMAT 650)with respect to ranks like top 50 etc as I would like to do MBA in 2008.

Thanks a lot!
Kavi

Hi Kavi,

I think it is never a mistake to retake the GMAT if you think you can do better, have the time to devote to it, and are not happy with your score.

That being said, I think a top 50 school is within your range if you submit well written essays that articulate your goals clearly and make a strong case for an MBA.

Good luck!
