Lets consider a couple.(Man+women :D )
So,when they separate :
Women separate + Man separate

So, the survey is able to collect data about Women. But what about Men? Where did they go.

1. Nothing about age is mentioned(out of scope)

2. Gives a reason why Men have not been counted

3, Another reason why Men have not been counted :)

So 2 & 3

E as 2 and 3 explain why no. of women were more than no. of men

Well I feel E is the answer. I guess I'm right. If some expert could throw light on the reasoning it would be a big help.
