Hi,
Here's a problem I find quite hard to solve :
"An empty pool being filled with water at a constant rate take 8 hours to fill to 3/5 of its capacity. How much more time will it take to finish filling the pool ?"
A. 5hr 30 min
B. 5hr 20 min
C. 4hr 48 min
D. 3hr 12 min
E. 2hr 40 min
Here's how I tried to fix the problem :
We know that 3/5 = 8xR
So R = 3/40
And 2/5 = Tx3/40, T being the remaining time to finish filling the pool.
So T = (2/5)/(3/40) = 5,33
Given this I would pick answer A. Still, the right answer is answer B...
I don't understand what's wrong in my reasoning ?
Thank you very much for your help
