Is one month enough time to study?

by gc88 » Mon Dec 07, 2009 2:56 pm
I am currently in my last year of college and applying to the M.S. Accountancy programs at San Diego State University and CSU Fullerton. I took the GMAT this past Saturday and scored an embarrassingly low 510 (29 quant, 31 verbal). I only spent about a week studying for this exam. I am majoring in social work, so it's been several years since I've taken a math class.

The average GMAT score is 602 for SDSU, and 550 for CSUF. If I study intensely for the next 4 or 5 weeks and then retake the GMAT around the third or fourth week of January, how likely would it be for me to score in the 550-600 range?

I've already submitted my grad school applications, but can request to put those on hold until my new GMAT scores are sent.

It's do-able, but 2-3 months of study is usually my recommendation if you have the time. Otherwise, if you're in a crunch and need to study under a month, I recommend you read this post: https://www.beatthegmat.com/how-to-study ... h-t98.html

Good luck!
