Advertisement: At most jewelry stores, the person assessing the diamond is the person selling it so you can see why an assessor might say that a diamond is of higher quality than it really is. But because all diamonds sold at Gem World are certified in writing, you're assured of a fair price when purchasing a diamond from Gem World.

The reasoning in the advertisement would be most strengthened if which one of the following were true?
A. Many jewelry stores other than Gem World also provide written certification of the quality of their diamonds.
B. The certifications of diamonds at Gem World are written by people with years of experience in appraising gems.
C. The diamonds sold at Gem World are generally of higher quality than those sold at other jewelry stores.
D. The diamond market is so volatile that prices of the most expensive diamonds can change by hundreds of dollars
from one day to the next.
E. The written certifications of diamonds at Gem World are provided by an independent company of gem specialists.
I was stuck between B and E. OA-E
Please explain B and E in detail why is E preferred over B?
E is preferred over B for the same reason as why you would prefer an expert's explanation over my explanation.

Gem specialists are similar to experts and people with years of experience in appraising gems are similar to members of the forum.

No offence meant, just a metaphor for better understanding :) Hope this helps !!

B. ........people with years of experience in appraising gems.
E. ........an independent company of gem specialists.

Basically we need to strengthen that "certification of price guarantees the fair price".

I am not able to get which one between B and E verifies the above case and why?

To understand more clearly about your question, the first part of the argument says it all.

At most jewelry stores, the person assessing the diamond is the person selling it so you can see why an assessor might say that a diamond is of higher quality than it really is

We are not provided with information of who appraises the diamonds in Gem world.

Take the case of B - if people with years of experience in appraising gems say that a diamond is of higher quality than it is to boost the company's sales then you are not assured of a fair price

But in E the diamond certificates are provided by an independent company - they are standalone and they cannot afford their credibility by assuring you of false claim that so and so diamond is of higher quality when it is not, so you can be sure that you can get diamonds at a fair price.

Does that help ?

Definitely E, as we would prefer taking advise/certification from an independent institution to ensure the quality of diamonds being offered by Gem World.

Focus on the REASONING.

Link 1: You CAN'T trust the assessment of a diamond SELLER.
Link 2: You CAN trust the written certifications at GEM WORLD.

For this reasoning to be valid, IT MUST BE TRUE that the certifications at GEM WORLD are not written by GEM WORLD ITSELF (the diamond SELLER).

Answer E gives us just what we need:
The written certifications of diamonds at Gem World are provided by an independent company of gem specialists.

The correct answer is E.

Answer choice B: The certifications of diamonds at Gem World are written by people with years of experience in appraising gems.
Since it's entirely possible that the PEOPLE WITH YEARS OF EXPERIENCE work at GEM WORLD and thus are the SELLERS of the diamond, this answer choice does not support the conclusion that you can trust the written certifications at Gem World. Eliminate B.

Underneath is how I tackle the question:
Premise: seller = people who assess the diamend -> not reliable
Conclusion: Gem World reliable because they have certificate
Expected answer: Gem World's certificate is RELIABLE or Independent
Afterthat, I scan through the answer:
(A) it mentions Other jewelry stores, not Gem World -> eliminated
(B) Even the certificate written by exp assessor, the asssessor might be bias to sell the gems -> eliminated
(C) Not relate to reliability of certificate
(D) Not relate to reliability of certificate
(E) exactly what I am looking for

Can anyone suggest me a better way to approach to save time. Above process took me around 2m30s to solve and it excess the time alloted for each question
