Addition Fraction

by afnanmoh » Fri Jan 06, 2012 2:46 am
i learned that when we have fraction with different denominators we apply this:

a/b + c/d =

(a*d) + (c*b)
____________
b*d

Now i found it applicable to most of the problems but what about this one:

6/13 + 2/26 ??

My answer to this problem is = 33/82

6/13 + 2/26 = 6/13 + 1/13 (because 2/26 = 1/13)
= (6 + 1)/13 =
7/13
