The guy has 45 minutes or 3*15 minutes to do the job. Since it takes him 3 minutes to fill q cans, he'll fill 15q cans of paint in 45 minutes.
1 gallon ................... r cans
x gallons..................15q cans

x = 15q/r.

If there are R cans of paint in One gallon-->>

How many gallons can george fill in 45 minutes

Plz help

Lets attack this problem in 2 steps.
step 1: How many cans will be filled in 45 mins.
step 2: Convert to gallons.

Step1.

q cans ---------> 3 mins
X cans ----------> 45 mins.

so X = q*45/3 = 15q cans in 45 mins.

Step 2.
1 gallon -------> R cans
Y gallons --------> 15q cans.

So Y = 15q/R gallons.
