A girl keeps a record of time she spende practicing her trumpet. On Monday she spends 1 and 1/4 hours; on Tuesday and Wednesday she spends 2 hours each day; on Thursday she spends 1 and 3/4 hours. How many hours will she have to spend practicing for the rest of the week in order to have exactly 90 minutes each day?

Where are the answer choices firstly? Remember that you could solve many questions using answer choices.

Ok, coming to the question. Convert everything into minutes,

Monday - 75 min
Tuesday - 120 min
Wednesday - 120 min
Thursday - 105 min

Rest of the week (3 days left).

Average time is 90 min. Sum of all day's time is 90*7 = 630 min
Time already spent = 75 + 120 + 120 + 105 = 420 min

Remaining time left = 630 - 420 = 210 min.

The question asks for number of hours = 210/60 = 3.5 hrs.
