Due to the fact that Jordan wrecked Bono's station wagon during a road trip last summer, she has not been and probably never would be allowed to drive her father's car.

(A) has not been and probably never would be allowed to drive
(B) has not been allowed to drive and probably never will be allowed to drive
(C) has not and probably never would be allowed to drive
(D) has not and probably will never be allowed to drive
(E) has not and probably never will be allowed to drive

what's wrong with A?

IMO A (though better option could have been "...and probably WOULD NEVER be allowed..")

Eliminating B just because it looks wordy.

Experts, please through some light on this.

Infact A is wordy.

Probably and would convey same meaning and hence are redundant.
Either use only would or use probably with will.

"Native of" is used for a individual while "Native to" is used for a large group

this is a shi**y question. i doubt GMAC would use probably and will in the same clause.

if this is not from an official source i would waste my time somewhere else.

I am afraid I don't agree with you on would and probably be used interchangeably. Can you give some example?

Also what is the difference between "probably would" and "probably will"? AFAIK unlike will , would is generally preferred in negative context (reference: OG11).

What's wrong with 'D'? It uses 'will' instead of 'would'. Sounds more probable. Also follows the present tense. This is the question that someone will probably get when he has scored 51 and GMAC is testing him for 52. lol.

I read some where on this forum that "probably" and "will" are not supposed to be used together and the question is not of high standard to be honest

B is not the best choice and the test makers are hoping that you will not pick it.

However B is the answer because A incorrectly uses would in place of will.

Hence you need to pick B.
