IMO C

B & D - Wrong Subject verb agreement
A - only is not required because the condition is already on the selection of members
E - misplaced modifier

A) admits as members only women who can prove lineal descent ---->correct
B) admit as members only women who can prove lineal descent ----> should be admits
C) admits as members women who can prove lineal descent ----> distorts meaning --> women + other members
D) only admit as members women who can prove lineal descent ----> only is a modifier and should be directly placed before women+ should be admits
E) admits as members women who can prove lineal descent only ----> only should be placed before women

OA after discussion

In GMAT, Only is placed directly before the word it modifies.

We need the singular "admits" to go with the singular collective noun.

Down to A, C & E

E changes the meaning by putting the "only" at the end.

Between A & C, I think C changes the meaning a bit...it does not reiterate that only these women will be admitted. A does a better job at that.

So I choose A

B & D eliminated due to subject-verb error.
C & E eliminated since the placement of 'only' changes the meaning of the sentence.

I'd go with A.

I feel A is the closest in terms of preserving the intended meaning.
